The Grim Reaper

Looks like this week's blog is going to one of macabre tone; for those of you who can't handle that, read no further. Every time Death raises his head from the depths of Hades, we take a few moments to reflect on our own lives, the people that we care about, and whether they know how we feel about them. Then, we settle back into our sense of complacency and, in some regards, immortality, and continue in our merry ways. That is, until Death decides he's bored and comes to roam among us earthlings once again. The question I ask of those of you reading this, is not whether those people you care about know that you care about them; but, whether you have come to grips with mortality - your own, and that of your loved ones. How many of us really have accepted that we will, at some point in time, depart this life? How many of us delay lots of things in our lives because we continually think that we will have a chance to do them tomorrow, or the day after that? Like millions of people, each morning when I wake up, I say a quick prayer to God and thank Her for the opportunity to see another day. There is, however, one more thing that I do: I say to myself "this could be the day...what are you going to make of it?" Try it sometime; what a perspective-changer it may prove to be!
