He livin'?

Yes, I'm still alive. I went flying the last two weekends - absolutely fabulous. I haven't been since last May, so it was good to be back at the controls. I'll post pics in a few days.

What If?

Recently, two people have said something along the lines of "make sure you don't look back and say 'what if?'" It dawned on me today, that that question will probably always be in the back of my mind. Whenever I have a decision to make, it, by definition, means that I had options that I had to make a choice from. Theoretically, you can forever be questioning the choice that made, and wondering what may have happened if I chose one of the other options.

There's some give and take, and I think I'm okay with that.

Rainy Days

The Carpenters got it wrong: rainy days aren't that bad. In fact, they're awesome - no better day to observe the three R's: reading, relaxation and rumination. If only I had a crackling fire in the background and a glass of wine in hand.

Speaking of rumination, I thought this was interesting: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4751319.stm
Hmm...disregarding history/culture due to religious mandates?

A Day Without Immigrants

Happy Labour Day! I know most of you are at home relaxing on your day off; but, not us in the good old U. S. of A. It's interesting that the day itself commemorates something that happened in the U.S.A. in the 1800s, yet they don't celebrate it. Actually, I err: they do celebrate it - just in September.

Today is also "A Day Without Immigrants" here in the U.S. Millions of immigrant workers are expected to boycott work, school and businesses in order to show the government how much immigrants matter to the economy. I haven't formulated my final thoughts on this, so I shall comment later. You, however, are free to comment at length.
